Different mechanical complications of acute myocardial infarction
A recent JACC Seminar has 5 papers that discuss the various mechanical complications of acute myocardial infarction, all of which can be evaluated with cardiac MRI.
These include
- Right ventricular infarct
- Severe mitral regurgitation
- Ventricular septal rupture
- Ventricular free wall rupture
- Left ventricular aneurysm.
This video discusses the CMR appearances of each of these complications with cases.
